Things going well

Picked up the holiday tickets today. Holiday's getting awfully close. Got to get some clothes shopping done tomorrow, whether it has to wait till after court or not. Still don't know if that's on. I'll have to get up early and call ahead. If it's off Raine and I are gonna take a day trip to Glasgow :-)

Gonna take my contacts with me too, get a cheap pair of sunglasses.

WoW addiction still going strong. I managed to get my hands on one of the largest swords in the game on Friday night. I wasn't aiming to get it, it just kinda landed in my lap... Damn thing freaks me out. It must be 7 foot long or something! Still, it's good :-D

Time Flies

Dear god it's been over a month since I last posted anything on here! I blame a combination of work, WoW, the Wheel Of Time books and Raine. Not necessarily in that order.

Well, let's start with something I know well. WoW. I've not gone on as many raids as i would have liked to over the last month, but when I have, the dice have favoured me well. I've been playing my warlock a bit again and he's still lots of fun.

Main reason WoW hasn't dominated my free time is due to the fact I rearranged my room last month into a more sensible shape, making it roomier, lighter and more accessible. This ment moving my PC to the other side of the room, beyond the reach of my LAN cable. The naivnup solution was to in wireless. Man was that a dumb choice. Bought up all the new cards and router, got it all plugged in and all the individual bits working, but it took me 3 weeks to get anything like a semi-reliable connection again. I've got it mostly working now, though it has it's good days and it's bad days. In hindsight £30 worth of cable woulda been easier and better, but done is done.

Did I mention the World of Work? I had an interview for a assistant manager (in all but name/wage) but i would have to have given up the new shift rota, and I've waited to long to get them as good as they are and I'm not willing to give that up straight away. Ah well. My bro is doing well, training for his new job, he's even more excited about it now than he was before, which is great :-)

And saving the best for last, the reason I've had less "free" time of late is cause I'm spending alot more time with Raine. We've moved from "best friends" to boyfriend/girlfriend :-) It's taken me a wee while to get that shift sorted out in my head. I've known her so long... But it's all going well with up right now.

We've decided to go on holiday in the run-up to Raine's birthday too. We've been looking at various cheap'n'cheerfuls around Europe and after a disasterous attempt to book through lastminute.com (never trusting them again) we managed to get a short break in Turkey booked through First Choice. Week in the sun should be good.

Another week

4 days in a row again this week, but i get my 1st 4 day weekend so it's all good. Managed to get into our Blackwing Lair raid in WoW last night and get my first epic item :-) We also managed to take down Firemaw for the first time, so it was cool being able to be a part of that. I think i got some good raid experience too, so it's all good. Still need to get those Boosh pics up.

a World awaits...

The World of Warcraft.

Yup, I've been lured back in to WoW. Our guild, Azeroth Guardians, has grown to the point we are doing the 40 man raids ourselves now, without having to throw our lot in with another guild to make up the numbers. After my suprise return on Friday night, i've already had a quick sojourn into Blackwing Lair, though we weren't really up to killing very much. The game at 60 is still a completely different beast to pre-60. I guess I'll get around this by always having at least one alt on the leveling. Gotta get my main's fire resistance up, and thats gonna be a pain. Most of the guild has a 3 month lead on me there.

Well, I'll do what I can there. I also plan on rearranging my room, make it better, spacier and lighter. Think I'll use up a couple of days off doing that.

It's gonna be good being able to plan my days off. The shift system at work is changing from the chaotic haphazard jumble it has been, to a fixed rota on a 4 week rotation! Not only that, but I've moved from five 8 hour shifts per week to four 10 hour shifts. So an extra 2 hours each day in exchange for an extra day off each week :-) I'll have to get up earlier, but likely no earlier than 7am, so it won't be that bad. Best thing though, is I get a four day weekend once a month! Sweet.

Been doing so much the last few days! Also saw The Mighty Boosh on Saturday night. Now I've never been the biggest fan of the Boosh, but the live theatre show was brilliant! I was laughing through almost the whole thing. The guys were messing about somewhat (playing jokes on each other and such) but that just added to the fun for me. I took some pics, but to be honest the digital zoom combined with my less than rock steady hand combined to make mince meat of opt of them. I'll post what i can salvage of them :-)

PS: My bro has news, if you know him, ask him ;-)
